Ceiling Lights

A pendant light hangs from the ceiling on a cord, chain, or rod, with the bulb or shade suspended below the fixing point. They work as a single statement piece over a dining table or in a row over a kitchen island. See the full range in our pendant collection.

Turn off the power at the consumer unit before you start. Disconnect the old fixture, check that the new wiring matches (live, neutral, earth), then connect and secure the new fixture before fitting the ceiling rose or canopy back into place. If you're not confident working with household electrics, use a qualified electrician.

Most shades use one of two fittings: clip-on, which attaches directly to the bulb, or spider, which screws onto the gallery at the base of the shade. Check which type your fixture takes before buying a replacement, as the two aren't interchangeable.

A light fitting is the fixed hardware that holds the bulb and connects to your home's wiring, sometimes called a fixture. It's separate from the lampshade or bulb, which are the replaceable parts. Our ceiling light fittings span everything from pendants to flush mounts.
