How do I change a ceiling light fixture?

Turn off the power at the consumer unit before you start. Disconnect the old fixture, check that the new wiring matches (live, neutral, earth), then connect and secure the new fixture before fitting the ceiling rose or canopy back into place. If you're not confident working with household electrics, use a qualified electrician.

How do I fit a lampshade to a ceiling light?
